The route quality:   ****

Attention: the rappelling is not allowed in Nahal Gilbon nature reserve, so decide for yourself!

Take into account that "the route quality" of four stars in such a case means "very interesting" only and not "highly recommended"...

The route type:

Easy hiking with one rappelling spot only, but it's a magnificent one.

The hiking route is in the nature reserve Nahal Gilbon, it is very popular and consequently too much crowded at weekends.

There are beautiful pools, waterfalls and a dense oleander bush that is especially colorful in the time of flowering (June - July).

Getting there:

Drive on the road number 90 in Kiriat Shmona direction to Mahanaim junction and turn right to the road number 91. Drive east in direction of Nashut junction (road number 9088). Continue 1.2km after Nashut  junction and turn left to a secondary road marked with red marks.

Follow red marks till the parking lot. The hiking route starts here.

The waterfall is 40m high.

The can approach to the head of the waterfall just from the marked trail and there is no problem with anchoring.

The rappelling is steep, slippery and partly runs through the falling water that can pose difficulties for inexperienced rappelers.

It is not recommended for beginners!

The rappelling ends into the large deep pool. You can uncouple yourself from the rope staying on rocks in a shallow, but anyway you must swim to get to the "mainland"...

In order to get back to your car, follow the trail marked with blue marks.
